What Is "Do" and "Does"?

"Do” and “Does” are helping verbs used in the present tense, especially for:

✅ Asking questions
✅ Making negative sentences
✅ Giving short answers

They are NOT used for past tense. 

1. Use of “Do”

Use “do” with these subjects:

➡️ I, You, We, They

 Examples :

                      I do my homework every day.

                       You do a great job.

                     We do yoga in the morning.

                     They do their work on time.

❓ In Questions:

                            Do I know you?

                            Do you speak English?

                             Do we have class today?

                             Do they like pizza?


❌ In Negative:

                           I do not like loud music.

                           They don’t live here.

                           You don’t need to worry.

2. Use of “Does”

Use “does” with these subjects:

➡️ He, She, It, Any Single Name

Examples:

                   He does his homework every day.

                   She does yoga in the morning.

                   It does not work properly.

                    Jack does everything carefully.

❓ In Questions:

                           Does he speak English? 

                           Does she cook well?

                           Does it work?

                          Does your friend play football?

❌ In Negative :

                            He does not like coffee.

                            She doesn’t live here.

                            It doesn’t rain in summer.
