How to Talk About Your Day in English

πŸ‘‹ By slow english podcast team

Do you want to practice English speaking but don’t know what to say?

In this blog, I’ll guide you step by step on how to describe your full day in English.

Let's start ⭐

1. Talk About Your Morning

🟒 Use simple past tense and daily routine words.

πŸ”Έ Example:

I woke up at 7 AM.

I brushed my teeth and took a                                shower.

I made tea and had breakfast.

I checked my phone for messages.

Then, I got ready for work/school.

🟠 Tip: Use short sentences and speak slowly.

🌞 2. Describe Your Afternoon

🟒 Talk about your work, study, or home activities.

πŸ”Έ Example:

I reached the office at 10 AM.

I answered emails and attended                            a meeting.

I had lunch at 1 PM.

I studied for my English test.

I helped my mom with cooking.

🟠 Tip: If your day is simple, that’s okay. Just be real and clear.

πŸŒ‡ 3. Talk About Your Evening

🟒 Share what you did after work/study.

πŸ”Έ Example:

I came home around 6 PM.

I watched a movie on my phone.

I played with my little brother.

I went out for a walk.

I ate dinner at 8:30 PM.

🟠 Tip: Use “came,” “watched,” “played,” and other past action words.

πŸŒ™ 4. Describe How You Felt

🟒 Use feeling words:  tired, happy, relaxed, bored.

πŸ”Έ Example:

I felt tired but happy today.

My day was busy but good.

I was a little bored in the   afternoon.

I felt relaxed in the evening.

🟠 Tip: Add 1–2 feeling words to make your speaking more real.

πŸ“– 5. Put It All Together: Sample Full Paragraph

πŸ”Ή "Today, I woke up at 7 AM and brushed my teeth. I had tea and breakfast. I worked on my English for 2 hours. In the afternoon, I helped my mom in the kitchen and watched a video online. In the evening, I went for a walk and then had dinner. I felt relaxed and happy because I did many things today."

This paragraph is simple, short, and natural — just like how a beginner should speak.

🧠 Tips:

✔️ Speak in front of a mirror

✔️ Record your voice

✔️ Write your day in a notebook and read it aloud

✔️ Repeat the routine every night
